Always remember to be “ soft like a velvet glov Always remember to be “ soft like a velvet glove on a iron hand” was advice given to me as I entered womanhood. I didn’t understand it until I began to experience life. ⁣
⁣
⁣
Velvet is soft and associated with luxury. It’s high quality and timeless. It understand it’s worth. Iron is strong and can withstand anything. Iron sharpens irons. Women are fruitful and underestimated. What you see may seem soft and gentle (velvet) but our strength is our power (iron).

There are so many women in history who I admire for their contribution but the real MVPs are the ones who are placed in our lives along this journey. We’re walking legacies of prayers answered. Walk confidently and boldly in all that you are.

Happy First Day of #WomensHistoryMonth special shout-out to Dani for her annual Women’s History Month Project. Such a fun shot. ⁣

Crown ✨ Received a lot of compliments about my Crown ✨

Received a lot of compliments about my fro and encouraging me to wear it. Wow, my inner child felt seen ! I wish I had the confidence to wear my hair like this as a little girl. The memory of seeing Just for Me ads all over conditioned me to think straight hair was better.
⁣
I’ve grown to appreciate every curl, wave, and texture of my hair. I love the versatility of my hair. Wash and go, twist out, sleek back, braids, twists, straight, or wavy. I love my hair! ⁣
⁣
When did you fall in love with your hair ? ⁣

Some sun + fresh air does the body good! ⁣ ⁣ I Some sun + fresh air does the body good! ⁣
⁣
It’s only Wednesday and this week has been a lot. The exhaustion and work fatigue is real. Your girl had a migraine two days in a row (no bueno). Since the weather was 61 degrees in D.C and I was not going miss out on the opportunity to enjoy it and get some natural healing for my body. I transferred the meetings to my phone, turned off my camera/mic, and walked outside. After I decided to go for a run then I took Chai on a long walk. ⁣I feel a lot better once I got some air.
⁣
Working from home as showed me the importance of boundaries and limits. Listen we aren’t meant to be on laptops and video conferences all day long. So tonight, the to do list will wait until tomorrow, phone is on DND, pouring myself a glass of wine (it’s #winedownwednesday), and I’m going catch up on This is Us. Sis is tired ! Know your limits. ✨ ⁣

So boom the other day my bestie said to me “what So boom the other day my bestie said to me “what are you afraid of”. I was puzzled but I had a laundry list of things. She quickly reminded me of ALLLL the things I overcame and in my head I was like “okay your point is”. She quickly reminded me that “God has had your back the entire time..the one person so cut it out you will always be fine”. Yes, get you a bestie who will tell you like it is. Whelp what’s more to say.⁣

I may be small in stature but there’s nothing sm I may be small in stature but there’s nothing small about my greatness. ✨⁣
⁣
There’s been constant reminders around me that what I may call small God calls big. I am one of those big things. Interesting my height (I stand 4’11 1/2 proudly leave me alone) has been something people poked fun of and use to their advantage. ⁣
⁣
-“You’re too little and short” ⁣
-“Your personality is too big for your little self” ⁣
-“You’re so small somebody will hurt you and take advantage of you” ⁣
- “oh you’re really small but your voice/laughter doesn’t match your size ” ⁣
⁣
I allowed my stature to play a role in how I operated in the world. I’m small so I will play small and safe. I’m small so let me not be too loud or forward. I’m small so these things are too big for me to conquer. Crazy thing nothing has stopped God for using me and protecting me. God packed me just right with all the big things.
⁣
I can be small but nothing about me is small. My heart, faith, boldness, love, drive, passion, personality, and dedication are all BIG. Those things will and can move mountains. Yeah so I’m not small l’m a pretty BIG deal. ⁣
⁣
Thanks for coming to my TED talk. ⁣Happy Monday!
